Brandon - in progress |
This imposing residence was designed by J W Pender in 1882 for William Fisher and has remained in the family hands ever since. As a new generation comes to live full time at Brandon, renewal of the kitchen and bathrooms is needed and has been the subject of numerous family discussions. Having previously refurbished the owners home in Sydney in the 1990s, our practice was happy to be commissioned for similar adaptation and conservation work at Brandon.
With the original Pender plans of Brandon to hand, we can assess the relative intactness of the house and its suite of outbuildings and infrastructure, including a fine brick domed cistern.
The buildings have been very well maintained since construction, and working closely with the needs of the contemporary Fisher family and the conservation demands of this commanding site, we have gathered a team of expert collaborators to rejuvenate the house and its garden setting for the future.
